Acupuncture Services for Health and Vitality

fertility acupuncture procedures in Orange County

Acupuncture can greatly aid in the fertility process. Our approach to fertility is comprehensive, offering full-body treatment that addresses multiple health concerns, often treating other issues, like allergies and chronic pain simultaneously. Overall health impacts implantation and pregnancy. This comprehensive care can make the entire fertility process easier, both emotionally and physically. The list of fertility benefits from acupuncture is extensive, including in preparation for procedures such as IVF, embryo transfer and ovarian stimulation. Acupuncture also helps with male factor infertility.

Acupuncture is also extremely useful for a wide range of conditions related to fertility. It stimulates better blood circulation, enhancing flow of nutrients, oxygen and ovarian stimulation drugs to the reproductive system, which in turn better supports fertility treatments and pregnancy. Acupuncture also reduces depression, stress and anxiety. Acupuncture is being extensively researched scientifically and many studies show increased pregnancy rates, decreased miscarriage rates, and better sperm parameters.

IVF Acupuncture Services

Preparation for IVF

IVF procedures are boosted by the benefits of acupuncture both before and after procedures. The healthier blood flow induced by acupuncture stimulates better-growing follicles to produce more mature eggs, and reduce miscarriage rates were found in a study when acupuncture was used during the stimulation cycle. Acupuncture also improves ovarian function by regulating hormone levels, and is shown to induce ovulation in PCOS better than exercise or relaxation techniques.

Prevention of IVF drug
side-effects

Headaches, mood swings, bloating, constipation, anxiety, depression, stress and nausea can all be helped with acupuncture. Abdominal pain, discomfort and bloating from egg retrieval are also alleviated.

Slow-growing or
uneven follicles

The more mature eggs are collected, the greater your chance of fertilization and the higher the chance of pregnancy. Acupuncture stimulates micro-blood circulation to the ovaries, which means more of the stimulation drugs reach the follicles and help them to grow faster and more evenly, producing more mature eggs.

Thin uterine lining

A thicker uterine lining facilitates successful implantation. Acupuncture stimulates a thicker lining by increasing the blood flow to your uterus. Usually, 8 visits within 4 weeks, aligned with your cycle, is sufficient, but each case is different and will be treated individually.

Day of Embryo
Transfer

On-site acupuncture before and after your embryo transfer eases stress, reduces inflammation, alleviates uterine contractions and cramping, increasing the chances of successful implantation. The treatment is provided right before the embryo transfer and immediately after.

Preparation for a frozen embryo transfer

Acupuncture treatments before a frozen embryo transfer will help to create an environment conducive to successful implantation – a uterus with a thick lining and a healthy blood flow providing lots of nutrients and oxygen.

Other acupuncture services include natural conception, male factor infertility, Uterine Ischmocele, High FSH, recurrent implantation, recurrent pregnancy loss, diminished ovarian reserve, and miscarriage recovery.

While acupuncture is beneficial to most fertility issues, it cannot facilitate a natural pregnancy if there is a tubal blockage or if you are sterile. The success of acupuncture depends on your individual diagnosis and other variables that will be assessed during the initial consultation.
