- Bachelor and Master of Science from Oregon State University. In 1993, awarded the Doctor of Philosophy degree from Washington State University, followed by a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Oregon Primate Research Center
- Over 30 years' experience as IVF Lab/Scientific Director at University of Chicago, University of Michigan, and Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine
- In 2002, co-founded one of the nation’s first Fertility Preservation Programs in the University of Michigan’s Rogel Cancer Center
- Mentored more than 70 predoctoral and postdoctoral students, medical residents, and fellows—many of whom are today’s leaders in Human Reproduction
- Published over 125 peer-reviewed articles and books
- Currently Professor of Ob/Gyn, Physiology, and Urology at University of Michigan
- Board Certified as a High Complexity Laboratory Director (AAB) in both Andrology and Embryology
